Students Gain Real-World Experience Through Claro Case Competition

The Sound Solutions team - Abby Dorolek, Rachel Weber, Karolina Marczewski, Arpan Mehta, and Danielle Houpy - earned first place and a $5,000 prize.

The Community Health program partnered with The Claro Group, a Chicago-based financial advisory and management consulting firm, and Future Health Care Executives to host the second-annual The Claro Group Case Competition for Illinois undergraduate students on April 14.

Eight teams worked through a case that The Claro Group gave them and presented their recommendations to solve real-world healthcare administration problems. The Claro Group is led by two Illinois alumni: founding partner Venny Arquilla and managing director Lee Kuhn, and has hired 14 health planning and administration alumni from Illinois to date.
